Congratulations Nigerian Nurses & Midwives
In November 2023, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) introduced more stringent rules in the verification process for Nigerian nurses and midwives, which led to the prolonged closure of the verification portal for over six months. This significant delay sparked nationwide protests, intense negotiations, lobbying, and legal proceedings as the nursing community fought to address these challenges and restore fairness to the system.
Today, we are proud to announce that through the tireless efforts of advocates and stakeholders, the NMCN verification portal is finally re-opened. This victory represents not only a step forward for Nigerian nurses and midwives, but also the power of collective action and dialogue in upholding the rights and dignity of our healthcare professionals. Let’s continue to build on this momentum and work toward a more transparent, efficient, and equitable future for all nurses.
