One year of Unpaid Salary for NPower Beneficiaries
A well known and prominent Nigerian Activist and Lawyer Deji Adeyanju, has officially
and formally petitioned the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs over the long-years of
delay in the payment of Npower beneficiaries stipend/ salary.
The petition is a representation of numerous npower beneficiaries facing financial difficulties
after completing a full term of service without receiving their salary/ stipends. Below is a well detailed

Based on the petition by filled by Activist Deji Adeyanju for the beneficiaries, explained the difficulties
faced by many npower beneficiaries who were engaged with the program from October 2022 to September 2023.
The individuals signed a memorandum of understanding that the npower program will provide them with monthly
salary/stipend to help them sustain their livelihoods whilst they develop their job skills, said the petition.
Mr. deji said:
“Our clients fulfilled all obligations and performed their assigned roles in good faith, expecting their monthly stipends on time as per the program’s guidelines.”
Hardship among Beneficiaries
The prolonged delay in the payment of salary/stipends to the beneficiaries has caused un told hardship for the participant of the program.
Many of the participants relied and believed on this salary for their essential needs. the NPower program was created in Nigeria to assist young people by providing temporary financial support while they gain valuable work experience.
But the unpaid salary/ stipend has deprived them of such financial succor.
Many former Npower beneficiaries are now struggling to meet up with their financial obligations, because the monthly payment meant for their financial stability has turned to be a source pain to them.
NPower Program Objectives:
Npower program project was established to help Nigerian youths in the following ways:
1 Skill Training and Development: the NPower placements give participants hands-on experience in various fields of their choice, increasing their employability in future
2 Providing Financial Relief: Monthly stipends were initiated to support their daily living expenses.
3 Encouraging Economic Stability: with the help of a reliable salary/stipend, the beneficiaries will be more financially secured and be better prepared for suitable career.
