Egwu Phillip an Engineer Turned Trafficker Busted with Illicit Drugs.

Mr Egwu Phillip an Engineer that Turned a Trafficker was busted Smuggling illicit drugs which was concealed in a pressure machines that was imported from South Africa.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a suspected drug trafficker, Mr Egwu Phillip Inya who claims to be a building engineer, while attempting to take delivery of the illicit consignments concealed in pressure machines that was imported from South Africa.

The 42-year-old Egwu, who hails from Afikpo LGA, Ebonyi, he was arrested on Monday 2nd December 2024 at Okeyson motor park located in the heart of Enugu state, when he showed up to collect the three units of pressure machines inside which were hidden parcels of Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, weighing 7.40 kilograms.

This strain of cannabis called loud is a very strong strain that is to strong and not good for consumption and could lead to heart failure and heart break. Thus why the operation say no to drug abuse of the the NDLEA is a commendable one that will help combat Drug abuse and sales.

Mr Femi Babafemi the spokesperson of the NDLEA confirming the arrest, said the consignments had arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA Ikeja Lagos import shed on 29th November 2024.

Following credible intelligence, officers of the MMIA Strategic Command of the Agency had monitored the shipment pass through clearing processes up to a logistics company’s warehouse outside the airport where it was to be collected by the consignee.

The importer however changed the point of collection of the consignment to Enugu State in a last minute plan. The NDLEA as a result of the sudden change in location, mounted
up a follow up operation in Enugu and arrested Mr Egwu Phillip when he came up to collect the consignments.
